Contend not with a mighty man,

Strive not with a rich man, lest haply he overweigh thee:

Contend not with a man that is full of tongue,

Jest not with a rude man,

Reproach not a man when he turneth from sin:

Dishonor not a man in his old age;

Rejoice not over one that is dead:

Neglect not the discourse of the wise,

Miss not the discourse of the aged;

Kindle not the coals of a sinner,

Rise not up from the presence of an insolent man,

Lend not to a man that is mightier than thyself;

Be not surety above thy power:

Go not to law with a judge;

Go not in the way with a rash man,

Fight not with a wrathful man,

Take not counsel with a fool;

Do no secret thing before a stranger;

Open not thy heart to every man;
