Wisdom shall praise herself,

In the congregation of the Most High shall she open her mouth,

I came forth from the mouth of the Most High,

I dwelt in high places,

Alone I compassed the circuit of heaven,

In the waves of the sea, and in all the earth,

With all these I sought rest;

Then the Creator of all things gave me a commandment;

He created me from the beginning before the world;

In the holy tabernacle I ministered before him;

In the beloved city likewise he gave me rest;

And I took root in a people that was glorified,

I was exalted like a cedar in Lebanon,

I was exalted like a palm tree on the sea shore,

As cinnamon and aspalathus, I have given a scent of perfumes;

As the terebinth I stretched out my branches;

As the vine I put forth grace;

Come unto me, ye that are desirous of me,

For my memorial is sweeter than honey,

They that eat me shall yet be hungry;

He that obeyeth me shall not be ashamed;

All these things are the book of the covenant of the Most High God,

It is he that maketh wisdom abundant, as Pishon,

That maketh understanding full as Euphrates,

That maketh instruction to shine forth as the light,

The first man knew her not perfectly;

For her thoughts are filled from the sea,

And I came out as a stream from a river,

I said, I will water my garden,

I will yet bring instruction to light as the morning,

I will yet pour out doctrine as prophecy,

Behold that I have not labored for myself only,
